Palm Sunday

  • Northridge United Methodist Church 4610 Derr Road Springfield, OH, 45503 United States (map)

As we approach Holy Week, Palm Sunday marks the beginning of a week that is both joyful and solemn.

On April 13, 2025, Northridge United Methodist Church will kick- off Holy Week with a Church Breakfast.  Come and enjoy mini pancakes, sausage and more!

The breakfast will be followed by a special service that includes the Choir and Handbell Choir offering a piece together entitled “Palm Sunday Processional,” with the waving of palm branches in remembrance of Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem.

The service will begin with the reading of Zechariah 9:9, which describes the procession of the king into the city. This will be followed by the Gospel reading, taken from Luke 19:28-42, which recounts Jesus' entry into Jerusalem on a donkey, while crowds of people welcomed him by waving palm branches and laying their coats on the ground.

During the service, Pastor Karen Crawford will deliver a message titled "The Coming King," reflecting on the lengths that Jesus went to redeem us. The message will inspire us to reflect on our own spiritual journeys and consider how we can create meaningful memories that honor our faith.

Join us on Palm Sunday at Northridge UMC as we celebrate the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, and begin our journey towards the Cross and Resurrection. All are welcome to attend this special service and experience the joy and solemnity of this holy week.
